Title: Spaces that collapse 

Speaker: Sergio Zamora (Max Planck Institute) 

Abstract: It is known that when one has a sequence of closed ndimensional Riemannian manifolds of Ricci curvature bounded below and diameter bounded above, one can always find a convergent subsequence (in the Gromov-Hausdorff sense). If the limit has dimension n, just like the elements of the sequence, we say the sequence doesn't collapse, otherwise we say the sequence collapses. In the case of collapse, we study the relationship between the topology of the spaces from the sequence with the topology of the limit space. 

About the speaker: Sergio Zamora is a postdoc researcher from Mexico interested in metric geometry, geometric group theory, algebraic combinatorics, and discrete topology.
