Abstract: We investigate full information on the existence and nonexistence of traveling waves of a two-group SIR epidemic model with latent period. We consider two cases: with or without vital dynamics. For both two cases, we show that when the basic reproduction ratio $R_{0}$ is larger than one, there exists the minimal wave speed $c^*>0$ such that for each $c>c^*$, the system admits a nontrivial traveling wave solution with wave speed $c$, and for $c
