Abstract： In this mini-course we investigate a SIS epidemiological model, proposed to explain an epidemiological phenomenon that pathogen spread does not necessarily keep pace with its host invasion. We focus on proving the logarithmic lag of the front of the infected population from that of the traveling wave with minimum speed for the reduced equation. Our analysis can be used to study mono-stable scalar equations in inhomogeneous media.
