Abstract: We introduce a fixed point approach to the study for the existence of traveling waves in the monostable system without comparison principle. This approach is based on Berestycki et al 2005 (Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 178 57–80). We first apply this method to the scalar KPP equation, and then to the autocatalytic system whose existence of waves has been established via the shooting arguments.
