Abstract : Mean curvature flow is a classic geometric flow which deforms hypersurfaces in a given ambient space in the direction of their mean curvature vectors. In this mini-course, we aim to give an introduction on mean curvature flow in the Euclidean space, describe some of its special solutions (e.g. spheres, cylinders and bowls) and explain how these solutions can model finite-time singularities in mean curvature flow.
