Title: Three-manifolds with bounded curvature and uniformly positive scalar curvature 

Speaker: 董从翰 (Stony Brook University) 

Abstract: There is a well-known problem posed by Yau that which 3- manifolds admit a complete metric with positive scalar curvature. It’s still an open question in the case of open 3- manifolds. In this talk, I will discuss my recent work on open 3-manifolds with bounded curvature and uniformly positive scalar curvature, which shows that such manifolds have uniform lower bound on the injectivity radius. 

About the speaker: I'm currently a 4th year math graduate student at Stony Brook University with advisor Prof. Xiuxiong Chen. My interests are differential geometry and metric geometry.
