摘要：Resolving symplectic orbifold singularities, first posed by Gromov in the 1980s, is a basic question in symplectic geometry. In this talk, we will discuss how to resolve a 4-dimensional symplectic orbifold without imposing any conditions on the singular set, extending work of McCarthy-Wolfson in the 1990s for the case of isolated singularities. We will then discuss a new approach for studying symplectic finite group actions on 4-manifolds, which is based on the aforementioned result of resolution of symplectic 4-orbifolds. A particularly interesting case is given by the so-called symplectic Calabi-Yau surfaces, which will be discussed in more detail in the talk.
