Abstract: The purpose of the talk is two-fold. First, we provide some evidence of positive scalar curvature passing to the Ricci limit space under additional (almost) nonnegative Ricci curvature assumption by showing showing positive scalar curvature preventing some types of splitting in the limit space. Then, we use this result about limit spaces to study Gromov's macroscopic dimension conjecture for positive scalar curvature under additional (almost) nonnegative Ricci curvature assumption. Our method is a combination of the torical bandwidth estimates or cube inequality for positive scalar curvature, and the structure theorems including topological stability for non-collapsed singular spaces. Some new observations on the first Betti number and Anderson's no fibration example is also made. This talk is partially based on joint work with Jinmin Wang, Zhizhang Xie, Bo Zhu and with Bo Zhu.
