Abstract:
We will introduce the local Langlands correspondence, the Langlands-Shahidi method, and sketch the proof of the equality of the twisted exterior and symmetric square local arithmetic and analytic L- and epsilon-factors of GL(N) over a p-adic field. We use GSpin groups to define these twisted local analytic gamma-factors via Langlands-Shahidi method. The proof uses some globalization method to reduce it to the stability of the corresponding analytic gamma-factors, whose proof is given by some analysis of the asymptotic behavior of certain partial Bessel functions.
